This is a blend I got in my Christmas stocking this year. It’s from DAVIDsTEA, a Canadian (originally) company that started in Montreal.
The tea is a blend of Chinese black tea, peppermint leaves, cloves, cinnamon, orange peel, and of course, little candy cane confetti.
As this is a black tea, it brews best at around boiling temperature (100C). Directions say to boil 1.5 teaspoons of tea at 98C and steep for 4 – 6 minutes.
Since this is a black tea, you can enjoy it with milk, sugar, or honey if you like.
There is definitely a distinct orange and peppermint taste to this tea, which is rounded out nicely by the flavour of the Chinese black leaves. This is a great tea for enjoying Christmas cookies in the afternoon.
